The intention of this article is to raise awareness of ultra-processed foods in our diet and how we can take steps to reduce their use; similar to a charity I am involved with whose mission statement is to “help children and families turn away from ultra- processed foods, inspiring them to choose real and natural foods, the way nature intended, to improve health and well-being” (1).
